Robert “Bob” Ray Beahr, 70, died Monday, February 18, 2019 at his home in Lincoln with his family at his side. Bob was born in Lincoln on February 29, 1948 (a leap year baby) to Frank and Ruby Beahr. He attended Whittier Junior High and Lincoln High School. He and Barbara Halama were married on January 29, 1970 in Lincoln. Bob worked as an apprentice painter before being self-employed in 1980 as Beahr Painting and Decorating until 1990, when he began employment as a painter for Lincoln Public Schools and worked there until his retirement in 2011. Bob’s leisure time was spent hunting, fishing, and camping. On the weekends you could find the family at their cabin in Harlan County Lake. He also enjoyed classic country music, western movies and time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barb Beahr, daughter, Kristina Ziegenbein, of Lincoln, son, Brian Beahr and Jennifer Nelson , of Beatrice, sisters, Charlotte Wormald and Jean Pasco, five grandchildren, Amanda (Dustin Buller), Jesse and Cody Ziegenbein, Hayley and Josalyn Beahr, 1 great-granddaugher, Presley Ziegenbein. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Buster Beahr, and sister, Patricia Fisher.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel

245 N 27th Street, Lincoln, Ne. The family requests casual attire.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at Metcalf Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
