Anthony "Tony" S. Pensick

Anthony “Tony” Stephen Pensick, 83, of Lincoln, NE, passed April 20th, 2019. Tony was born to John M. and Viola E. (Roesch) Pensick, September 11th, 1935, in Columbus, NE. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1954, attended Norfolk Junior College for 2 years for pre-pharmacy, then studied pharmacy science at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for one year. He married Judith Ann Kubik on January 23rd, 1971 at St. Mary’s Catholic church, and they lived together in Lincoln, NE. Together they raised three children.

He leaves as his legacy three children: Mary E. Heimbrecht (spouse: Kurt), Eva M. Shepherd (spouse: Chad), and Kirstie A. Pensick. He also leaves to cherish his memory seven grandchildren, Christy, Meagan, Joseph, Stephanie, David Heimbrecht, Joseph and Rachel Shepherd, and one sibling, Dr. Allen Henry Pensick all of Lincoln, NE. His children remember him as a devout Catholic with a big heart.

He was preceded in death by Evelyn Elizabeth Helter (sister), and John David Pensick (brother).

Tony was a partner in JD, AH, and A Pensick Racing Stables. He worked as a manager at the 1140 club in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska before becoming a property manager for the General Services Administration for 35 years until he retired in 2006. He received a Water Conservation Award in Washington DC for a General Service Administration project.

He served an overseas tour of duty in Korea during his time in the United States Army. He received special recognition for scoring first among his cohorts on the military entrance examination. Tony also received a citation for marksmanship.

Services are 10:00 am Thursday, April 25th at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church 7601 Vine Street Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and rosery 7:00 pm Wednesday at Metcalf Chapel 245 North 27th Lincoln, NE. Graveside services are 1:30 pm at St. Bonaventure Cemetery 1021-1199 15th St in Columbus after the services. Condolences are on-line at Metcalffuneralservices.com. Father Lyle Johnson will officiate the ceremony. The family requests that donations be made to America Needs Fatima at www.americaneedsfatima.org/ANF-Articles/donation-form.html.
