Esther Grant, 97, formally of Friend, Ne, passed away February 3, 2022.  She was born March 23, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Phillip and Louise (Laube) Dinges.  In Esther's younger years, her and her family tended beet fields out west, where she met Orville Grant in Lexington, Ne.  They were united in marriage January 13, 1942 and from this union were 16 children.  Orville and Esther were married almost 70 years.  Eventually, they purchased a farm in Raymond, Ne.  Esther enjoyed helping on the farm and tending her garden.  She was a hard worker.  In their retirement years they belonged to camping organizations and went South during the winter for several years.  There they made many new friends.  They enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends.  She was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and loved her family dearly.  She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Cinda)  Grant, Kenneth (Darlene) Grant, Marvin (Patty) Grant, Warren (Beth) Grant, Kevin (Donna) Grant, Myron (Deb) Grant, Brian Grant, David Grant, and Aaron Grant; daughters, Doris Shriver, Doreen (Randy) Burcham, Cynthia (Daniel) Stutzman, Merna (Michael) Salak, and Jolene Schulz, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and her little dog Angie.  Preceded in death by her husband, Orville, son, Orville Leon, daughter, Esther RoJene, grandson, mother, father, 7 brothers and 9 sisters.
