Marcia Lynn Bartzatt

Marcia Lynn Bartzatt was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 7, 1948 and passed away on February 19, 2022. She was the daughter of Arthur and Opal Bartzatt, and she had one sister, Gloria.

She went to Havelock School and Lincoln Northeast High School. Marcia and her friends enjoyed their high school years. She had many different jobs but she decided to work at and later retire from Kawasaki.

Marcia had a son, Matthew, he and his family live in Minnesota.

She was a member of Havelock United Methodist Church. Some of Marcia’s hobbies were bowling, bingo, keno, and fishing, sometimes she even won. She also traveled for a while, enjoying our country.

On December of 2018, Marcia had a stroke and was unable to return home so she was moved to the Ambassador Lincoln.

On February 2020, before Covid changed all of our lives, the Ambassador had a Valentine’s Day party. At that party, her peers and staff members voted her to be the Queen.

During Covid visiting changed at the Ambassador, there were many months we were not able to see each other and it was difficult to communicate on the phone. Marcia had all her Covid shots and the booster, but unfortunately she still got the virus and it took all of her strength away.

We would like to thank the Ambassador for their care and communication,Tabitha Hospice and everyone who was part of Marcia’s life.

She is survived by son, Matthew (Asarae) Bartzatt; grandson, Jayce; granddaughter, Matayah; sister, Gloria (Jim) Coil; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (John) Bridgmon, Tom Coil and Corrie Tapia; great nieces and great nephews, T. J. and Kimberlee Coil, Candi Schlicker, Natasha Prater and Danial Cannon.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 N 27th St.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Havelock United Methodist Church, 4140 N 60th St., Lincoln, NE.

Burial at Oak Creek Cemetery, Raymond, Nebraska

Memorials may be given to the family.
