Jack Warren Deyoe, 70, passed away at home in Lincoln, NE September 18, 2022. Jack was born and raised in Jetmore, Kansas. He graduated Jetmore High School in 1970 and attended Kansas State University until his father’s illness necessitated he leave school to tend to the family farm. He and wife Tari married in 1973, and managed the farm in Jetmore, growing wheat and beef and started their family with the births of daughter, Lana and son, Eric.

Jack graduated from St. Mary’s of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS with a degree in secondary education and later achieved a Masters in Education from the University of Kansas. A passionate educator and coach, he taught English and journalism at Hayden High School in Topeka, KS and DeSoto High School, DeSoto, KS and coached football, wrestling, baseball, and track. He continued working as an Educational Administrator for the DeSoto School District until he retired in 2014.

Following retirement, Jack and Tari moved to Lincoln, NE to be closer to their grandchildren. Jack enjoyed traveling, participating in classes from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and caring for his dog Max and his daughter’s horses.

Jack is preceded in death by son, Eric, and parents Ezra Junior and Joan Paul Deyoe. He is survived by wife Tari; daughter, Lana Erickson; son-in-law, Paul Erickson; granddaughters Katie and Eva Erickson; brother, Ted; sister, Sheri Boro; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, September 26, 2022 at Grace Chapel, 1345 S 16th Street, Lincoln, NE.

Inurnment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent in Jack’s name to the Capital Humane Society (capitalhumanesociety.org).
