Leslie Leon Myers, Jr.

Leslie L. Myers, Jr., 63, of Lincoln, died May 28, 2009. Les was born to Leslie Myers, Sr. and Jean Peacock on February 21, 1946, in Bridgeton City, New Jersey. He was a retired emergency service/crisis responder for more than 20+ years. Family: Ex-wife, Debra; children, John and Sarah. He was very active in his church; Christ Temple Church. He was the Secretary of the Lay Leadership Board, a Deacon, and piano player for Prayer and Praise, Usher, Building Supervisor and active voice for the homeless. He had a passion and was working diligently to rally support for the completion of the Kitchen Renovation at Christ Temple so that Saturday morning breakfast for the homeless could resume. Les was also working with Christ for the City in an effort to unite area churches to address the needs of homeless. He also sat on a community service board with the City Mission. He was an active Ham Radio Operator and maintained an Amateur Radio License. He was an avid reader and had an active membership with the Local Library. He was a member of the Democratic Party. He loved Nebraska sports and was a reliable for Husker Trivia. Cremation/ no visitation. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Christ Temple Church, 2510 "S" Street, Lincoln. Memorials may be given to Christ Temple Church Kitchen Renovation Project, 500 N 25th St., Lincoln, NE 68503.
