Charles Thiessen, 84, of Lincoln, died Friday, July 10, 2009, in Lincoln. Manpower Specialist for the Nebraska Department of Labor. He was a WWII Army veteran, member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He received the Bonze Star, Silver Star, French and Belgian Croix de Guerre, Purple Heart medals and Award for Valor and Service from Omaha Beach on D-Day to Berlin at the end of WWII.
